Safehouses
Developer-confirmed GTA VI safehouses are more like RDR2 camps than classic GTA save houses: they change as the story moves chapter by chapter, residents keep schedules, and some nearby areas act as protected zones.

Overview
Safehouses is an editorial name for Jason and Lucia's living spaces. Nelson said they are far more complex than previous GTA hideouts and closer to Red Dead Redemption 2 camps. This page avoids story chronology beyond what Nelson already disclosed.
What is confirmed
- The story begins in the Leonida Keys; Jason's first house from the trailer is there.
- The story progresses chapter by chapter, and hideouts change as it progresses — the pair move between different safehouses.
- Interior details can change to some extent with story progression, but the main pattern is moving hideouts rather than a money-driven redecoration slider.
- People living there have daily schedules, including the uncontrolled protagonist.
- Areas around hideouts can function as safe zones, and some story-related locations are protected.
- Hair can be cut at a hideout with limited options; fuller styles require a salon.
How it appears to work
Safehouses are lived-in bases with schedules and restrictions, not only save points. Unexplored map areas stay hidden until visited, like GTA V and RDR2.
What remains unknown
- A public list of later-chapter safehouses is not provided here.
- Exact rules for what crimes are blocked in each protected zone are not fully listed.
