This is an editorial overview, not the database catalog. Structured reference pages now live under Mechanics and Activities. This article keeps the Extended Look context from Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look (August 27, 2026) and points to developer-confirmed system pages where interviews add named mechanics.

- Mechanics catalog — systems such as Wanted & Heat, Criminal Profile, and vehicle theft.
- Activities catalog — playable jobs such as gym workouts and store robberies, published only when playability is supported.
Protagonist switching
Observed in official footage: Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos switch active player control during gameplay sequences, including combat and chases, without a loading screen between swaps. See Character Switching, Jason Duval, and Lucia Caminos.
Wanted system
Confirmed (HUD): The Extended Look HUD visibly shows six wanted-star slots at maximum heat.
Observed: Icons beneath the wanted meter appear to track suspect descriptors such as clothing, vehicle, and group context during police searches. Developer interviews later named a related investigation state Heat — that fuller system is documented on Wanted & Heat System, not copied verbatim here.
Combat and targeting
Observed: Gunplay montage sequences show a slow-motion aiming presentation and regional body targeting markers. This is visible combat feedback — not confirmation of a named “dead eye” or “focus mode” system. Named combat choices such as suppressive fire are covered on Combat & Targeting.
Police evasion gameplay
Observed: Pursuit footage shows evasion tactics including disguise changes, abandoning a tracked vehicle, and coordinated escape as a pair. These are gameplay behaviors shown in montage — not a complete rule set. Developer-confirmed Heat rules live on the wanted page linked above.
Phone and interface
Observed: In-game phone UI appears in several sequences. The Extended Look alone does not establish the full scope of phone features (for example, summoning the other protagonist), and those claims are not stated here as confirmed facts.
World interactions
Observed: A dog-petting interaction appears with positive on-screen feedback. Ambient animals and club/party scenes are visible, but this overview does not catalog species or thin petting loops as standalone activity pages.
What remains unknown
- Official names for many NPCs shown only visually (including contacts named in secondary press).
- Whether visually shown pastimes such as basketball or scuba are fully playable systems — they are not published as Activities until playability is evidenced.
- Complete wanted-system rules, arrest logic, and bail mechanics beyond what developers have described.
