Food & Buffs
Developer-confirmed GTA VI food effects: food can buff meters, energy drinks can strengthen stamina, and those extra amounts are lost if health falls below its normal maximum. Training raises base stats instead.

Overview
Food & Buffs is an editorial name for consumable effects Nelson confirmed. The team simplified an earlier grocery-and-fridge restock experiment because it became too complicated. Eating still has mechanical meaning rather than being pure role-play.
What is confirmed
- Food provides buffs that strengthen meters.
- If health falls below its normal maximum, the additional buffed amount is lost and will not recover beyond that point.
- Energy drinks can strengthen the stamina meter.
- Base stamina and health are increased through training, distinct from temporary buffs.
- A full grocery-restock fridge system was prototyped and then simplified.
How it appears to work
Buffs are temporary meter extensions. They are not documented as percentage tables or timers. Combine this page with Fitness & Body for the longer-term physique loop.
What remains unknown
- No official list of foods, buff magnitudes, or durations is published.
- Restaurant versus snack differences beyond Nelson's general statement are not documented.
